18th century squire Fenton Babblewick has just inherited “Babblewick Hall”. The problem is that Squire Babblewick has always lived in London and Babblewick is in a dim distant land… Yorkshire.
Babblewick though is determined to settle down as a country gentleman and neither his scheming manservant nor conniving servants the Squire has inherited will stop him. A shame that Squire Babblewick is not very bright and easily “taken for a ride” by everyone he meets.
